You daggers are in for a real treat today, as you get to virtually meet Deadman’s world-famous dog, Oliver (aka Ollie, The Monk, and when I’m real mad at him, Oliver Jacob or O.J.), whose dagblog.com’s debut appearance is in honor of the 133rd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and its best in show winner, the 10-year-old Sussex spaniel Spunk.
Unfortunately, today’s video is even more off-the-cuff and with more face scratching than usual because I had very limited time, and besides, Ollie wasn’t about to indulge me in multiple takes.
Also, you may notice that I’ve changed the name of these posts as I just can’t committ to doing them daily, although I will try. I’m going with DagBuzz but if you can think of a better name, I’d love to hear it.
Here are the Yahoo! Buzz stories I run down:
sorry deadman, your dog is ugly. so is michelle obama. and her fashion sense doesnt help matters in the slightest, but hopefully as time goes by she will become a bit more presidential. immigration is such a tough issue, i wish your opinion and analysis werent so uncharacteristically oversimplified.
ah, dude. i’m sorry to hear about your blindness. best of luck in finding a talented optometrist to fix your obvious shortcomings.
as far as immigration, i actually don’t think it’s that tough of an issue, so that could be the reason for your characterization of my opinion and analysis. The facts are indeed quite simple: America was founded and built through immigration, and our general welcoming of immigrants is a major reason why this country has achieved its unbelievable power and success.
The looming demographic shift as the baby boomers retire en masse will make it imperative that we continue to attract new immigrants, or we will end up with a woefully inadequate workforce. The blowhards who rail against illegal immigration and wish to close our borders are being incredibly shortsighted. Consumption will literally overwhelm our ability to produce. It’s quite simple economics, and as soon as this crisis passes, that will be the next dilemma this country must deal with.
However, in the meantime, I do feel a bank that accepts taxpayer money should probably be hiring American citizens (if they’re going to hire anyone).
